MUSIC MINISTRYChoir and Band 2, Compressed.jpg

The music ministry at Old North is part of the church’s broader commitment to word-centered teaching and discipleship. As part of their new life in Christ, the apostle Paul exhorted the Colossians:

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16, ESV)

This passage demonstrates the importance of bringing word-centered teaching and word-centered music together in a way that honors God and builds up the church. It also highlights the blessing and importance of corporate singing and admonition. When we sing, we sing both to God and to one another. This is why word-centered music is so important, as it informs our perspective on God and his agenda for the world. Therefore, our goal each week is to sing songs that: exalt Christ, explore the Bible, equip the church, and engage the lost.

The expressions of the music ministry at Old North include: bands, vocal teams, choirs, instrumental ensembles, technologies, and more.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or ministry opportunities. Until then, I look forward to pressing forward toward maturity in Christ together, as we let the word of Christ dwell in us richly.
